Brief info

Susan is best know for originating the role of Sandy in the Broadway Revival of “Grease” along side Rosie O’Donnell and Billy Porter. She also played Evelyn Nesbit in the American premiere of “Ragtime” starring Brian Stokes Mitchell and LaChanze where she earned an Ovation Award Nomination. Other Broadway credits include “Face Value” at the Cort Theatre and “Eating Raoul” (Off Broadway).

She has done numerous National and International Tours, including “Grand Hotel”, “Chess” and “Grease”. Susan has performed throughout the US and Canada in numerous regional theatre productions such as “Godspell” (MUNY Opera House), “Little Shop of Horrors” (MUNY Opera House), “Gunmetal Blues” (Colony Theatre-LA), “Of Thee I Sing” ( Cleveland Playhouse -Keefer Award), “And the World Goes Round” (Santa Clarita Regional Theatre) and “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the Birmingham Theatre to name a few.

Susan starred in the feature film, “Twelve Dogs of Christmas” and was a series regular on “The Jamie Foxx Show” along side her husband, Christopher B. Duncan. She has done numerous guest starring roles on tv shows such as “Frasier”, “Stacked”, “Movie Stars”, “Pensacola”, “The Geena Davis Show”, “The Naked Truth”and many others. She was a recurring guest on “The Conan O’Brian Show” and has made appearances on “Good Morning America”, “The
Joan Rivers Show” and “Marilu”.

She has had a lengthy career doing on camera commercials and voice over work. She can be heard on Meatloaf’s “Welcome to the Neighborhood” album
as well as the cast albums for “Grease” and “Eating Raoul”.

Susan studied drama at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts as well as Howard Fine and voice with renowned vocal coach, Eric Vetro.

    Not sure how to choose the right song for your audition? This is the class for you! Learn how to choose a piece that not only embodies who you are, but the role you are auditioning for. Find out how to tell the story and communicate the words while bringing your own unique spin to the song.

  • Putting Together Your Songbook – Open to All


    Every musical theater actor needs to show up at their audition being prepared to rock it! And that includes having your audition songbook accompanist ready! We’ll go over songbook selection, 16 bar cuts, as well as headshot and resume needs specific to the musical theater world.

  • Song Interpretation Performance Class Aspiring Actor, Teen


    This is a class on song interpretation helps bring depth and character to your vocal performance. Sing your favorite show tune and receive direct feedback while watching and learning from other’s performance/critique as well! Questions welcome!

    Please have one 16-32 bar vocal selection prepared and an accompaniment track (many can be found on YouTube) with your song selection as well as a device to play them on. You may also sing a cappella.

  • Musical Theatre: Performance Feedback – Aspiring Actor, Teen


    Take the nerves out of performing live by submitting a pre-recorded self tape of your song and receive personalized feedback on your performance live during class.
